After 38 years of dedicated service as LAFCO’s Executive Officer, Pat McCormick has retired !!! His last LAFCO meeting was May 1st when many came to acknowledge his outstanding career.
Pat worked diligently to advance the interest of LAFCO and the ideology of encouraging orderly growth, preserving agricultural lands and improving municipal service provisions throughout Santa Cruz County. He made significant contributions to the goals of the Commission as a highly respected champion of good government with over 1,200 proposed boundary changes and LAFCO actions processed during his tenure.
He received numerous recognitions throughout his triumphant career, including but not limited to CALAFCO’s Outstanding LAFCO Professional Award in 2009 and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. These prestigious awards are a tribute to the incomparable accomplishments of a courageous public leader.
